Terms of Use

1. What the app is

Ziggy ASL is a personal, non-commercial American Sign Language learning app. It includes lessons, practice, and progress tracking for your own use.

2. Subscriptions

A Ziggy Premium subscription is required for full access after any onboarding preview. Available plans, localized prices, billing periods, and any trial for which you are eligible are shown before purchase.

Subscriptions automatically renew for the displayed billing period unless canceled before renewal. If you begin an eligible free trial and do not cancel before it ends, the subscription converts to the displayed paid plan and continues to renew automatically.

Purchases made on iOS are processed by Apple through the App Store. Purchases made on Android are processed by Google through Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription access. We may change available plans or prices as permitted by the applicable storefront and law.

3. Cancellation and refunds

You can manage or cancel your subscription through the store account used to purchase it. Canceling stops future renewals but generally does not refund the current billing period. Refund eligibility is determined by Apple, Google Play, applicable law, and any policy we expressly provide.

4. Educational content only

Lessons and signs are for general learning only. Sign language varies by region and community. The app is not a substitute for certified instruction, interpretation, or professional advice. We do not guarantee any particular learning result.

5. User content

Some versions of Ziggy may let you record, export, or send content. You keep any rights you hold in your content and give us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display it only as needed to provide and protect the feature.

Only share content you have the right and permission to share. You are responsible for the recipients you choose and for content shared outside Ziggy through your device’s sharing tools.

We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to operate the service, investigate reports, protect people, or enforce these Terms or the law.

6. Acceptable use

You may not misuse Ziggy; harass, threaten, exploit, or impersonate others; share illegal, abusive, hateful, sexually exploitative, infringing, or deceptive content; attempt unauthorized access; reverse-engineer the app except where law permits; copy or resell its content; or use Ziggy in a way that violates law or harms others. We may remove content or restrict access when these Terms are violated.

7. Intellectual property

Ziggy, its design, branding, lessons, and media belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of Ziggy content or trademarks.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Ziggy is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate.

9. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Ziggy. Our total liability for a claim related to Ziggy will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits; where that applies, liability is limited only as permitted by law.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of Ziggy, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms by posting a new version and updating the date above. Continued use after an update means the revised Terms apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which we operate, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
